An experienced writer, producer and digital editor, Theresa Chaze is the motivating force behind the Reality TV series Horses and Heroes.  It is one of several projects on her slate along with a paranormal thriller Never Can Say Good-bye and an occult horror called Eye of Ra.  Another military based TV series will be soon added.

Horses and Heroes is a Reality TV series, which combines the highly effective Peer Support Therapy with Equine Therapy. Unlike most in the genre, it will focus on healing and positive growth rather than endorsing bad behavior. Each season will bring together the veterans from WWII to the current conflicts. They will be sharing their challenges and supporting each other as they find new solutions. They know the talk, because they have walked the walk. They see the dodges and will be able to call each other on them. Sparks may fly. Tempers may flare, especially when they force each other to face the ghosts. But will also be laughter and fun as they rebuild the comradery. The snarkiness and practical jokes between the branches don’t simply end. There is always room for just one more. When it airs, it will reach into the homes of the veterans, who need to hear that they are not alone and give them the information as well as the permission to also heal. They will help each other find their way back to the world. Veterans can’t go back and make a brand new start; but they can start from now and make a brand new end.

The ghost of a murdered child bring his parents back together after they have reincarnated. He needs them to remember their lives together and forgive. If he succeeds, they will all heal and he will be freed to also reincarnate. If he fails, their need for revenge will damn them all

Elizabeth was asked by her mentor to teach a writing course at a small college. Since she never forgets a kindness, she reluctantly agrees. Arriving in town, she instantly regrets her decision. She wants to run, but she is honor bound to stay. Even as the ghost of a small child begs her to forgive, the memories of another time arouse feelings of hatred that she doesn’t understand and cannot control. When she meets Shane, all of their lives are thrown onto a dangerous collision course from which they can neither run, nor can they hide. The question is, “Can they overcome their tragic past or will they be doomed to repeat it.

With the logline, “when love is forever, death is only the beginning, Never Can Say Good-bye is comparable to Ghost and The Others.

Kidnapped as a child, Rikki is forced to defend her life from her envious mother, who is more than willing to kill to steal her spiritual gifts. When Rikki escapes, Sandra turns her attention on others with power gifts, who are more vulnerable. Can Rikki find the strength and courage to once again face her mother and stop her or will Sandra use Rikki’s guilt to weaken her to the point that she is unable save herself or anyone else?

Katherine was born with the power to control the elements. Her whistle called the winds. Her tears refreshed the earth. She was able to see into the realms where fools and angels fear to tread. Her daughter, Sandra, was born with gifts that were complimentary—or they should have been. Sandra had the ability to nurture and heal. Her gifts gave her the ability to see and heal others’ pain. She could foresee their destinies and give them the courage to embrace their futures Yet, it was not enough. Sandra wanted more more direct control over the world and the realms beyond. When her daughters’ developed the gifts she craved, Sandra’s envy turned to hatred. When a voice from the dark void reached out and asked, “What would you do to have their power. Sandra replied, “Whatever it takes.”

Eye of Ra is an occult-horror, which is comparable to The Exorcist and Amityville Horror with the tagline, “when a mother eats her young, no one is safe.”

They will be sharing their challenges and supporting each other as they find new solutions.    When it airs, it will reach into the homes of the veterans, who need to hear that they are not alone, and give them the information they need to also heal.

These days, the emphasis has been on the veterans from the current conflicts; however, many of those from previous wars never had a chance to work through that they experienced.  They pigeonholed their lives and tried to leave their pain behind.  But now that they are reaching an age when they are starting to review their lives, that is no longer so easy to do.  For this reason, Horses and Heroes will not only attract the prized 18-35-year-old demographic, but also those who served in the Vietnam, Korean, and WWII.

While in service no brother or sister in arms behind.   Although most of the attention and support has been focused on the veterans from the current conflicts, many from the previous conflicts never receive the help and support they needed to heal through their physical and emotional pain.  Horses and Heroes will be bringing veterans of all ages, ethnic backgrounds, and both genders together.  It’s never too late to heal and come back to the world.  Transportation, housing, food, and therapy as well as a small stipend for the eight veterans in the program will cost $3,500.00 for each.  We are asking for the support of individuals and organizations to help us with these costs.

We are looking for corporate sponsorship to cross brand with Horses and Heroes.   Sponsoring Horses and Heroes through cross-branding will create positive PR in a cost effective manner, while setting an industry standard for social responsibility.  We are offering an updated version of cross-branding Mutual of Omaha did with its sponsorship of The Wild Kingdom.  In doing so, we will be combining old school with today’s promotional techniques to create a whole new marketing tool.

Supporting Horses and Heroes helps to make sure no veteran no veteran is left behind.  Please join our team by sponsoring a veteran or by cross branding with Horses and Heroes.  There are also investment opportunities still available.

A chance meeting created Horses and Heroes.  I met an elderly gentleman in the Borders café.  He was wearing a hat that identified him as a veteran.  I thanked him for his service and we started chatting about his experiences in WW II.  At the time, I was mentally taking notes for a scripted series I was writing called, Operation Home Base; however, our conversation showed me that I had the means to help in a very meaningful way.

His name was William Greene.  Decades later, he still hadn’t come to terms with his guilt and regret.  He survived, but his many of buddies didn’t.  He killed good men just because of where they happen to be born.  Through him, I connected the dots between Operation Home Base and another project, which lead to the creation of Horses and Heroes.

It is easy to get political and throw verbal rock at individuals and agencies.  But what good does it really do?  Pointing out the problem doesn’t create solutions.  Everyone knows what needs to be done.  But many people are too busy pointing fingers to actually find answers.

Horses and Heroes is my solution.  It is a Realty TV series that focuses on healing rather than glorifying bad behavior.  Working with the horses helps veterans find new ways to cope with their physical and emotional challenges.  Telling their stories in a safe, supportive environment gives them the means to face their ghosts head on.   Horses and Heroes can’t get them back what they lost.  War took that person. Yet it doesn’t have to be the end of their story.  One of my favorite sayings is, “You can’t go back and make a brand new start, but you can start from now and make a brand new end.”  Horses and Heroes will help veterans find the strength and courage within themselves to rebuild their lives and create that brand new end.

Everyone serves in the own way.  Although, I don’t have the temperament for the military, I greatly respect those who stand the wall.  I choose use my talents to help veterans tell their stories in such a way that they will heal themselves and show others that healing is possible.

Equine Therapy does not involve drugs nor lying on a couch and spilling their guts to a therapist. What it does do is help them find new ways to see and react to their emotional triggers. It helps their bodies remember how it used to work. It can’t replace what was lost, but it can give them the confidence to see that they are more than the sum of their body parts and life experiences. Horses and Heroes will give veterans and military personnel the information they need to find alternative healing solutions, which can help lower the suicide rate.

Helping Veterans with PTSD

horses-and-heroes-logo

I would like your help raising awareness for a PTSD treatment that has been very effective with veterans. We are producing a documentary that will tell the personal stories of how Equine Therapy helped them find new coping skills for the physical and emotional challenges created by war.

Horses and Heroes will create a greater awareness of Animal Assisted Therapy for civilians, military personnel, veterans, and their families. The goal is to create an understanding of how and why the therapy works, thereby giving those suffering from PTSD another therapeutic option. The horses help them come home.

Currently three of our five member staff are veterans of varies branches and wars. We intend to hire as many as we can for our crew.

All funds will go toward the production costs. Will you help us reach our goal to raise awareness for Equine Therapy by helping us produce Horses and Heroes?

Animal Assisted Therapy has been extremely effective for those who are physically and emotionally challenged. It has become more widely used in cases of PTSD, especially in cases of veterans. Although almost any animal can be a healer, dogs and horses are the ones most commonly partnered with veterans. Dogs have the advantage of being accepted in both cities and rural areas. However, horses are known to better reflect the mood of the person handling them. This ability is helpful for the PSTD patient to learn how to recognize their own feelings. In this way, they learn how to retrain their mind and body reacts to stressers.

A semi-scripted documentary Horses and Heroes has hired a personable host, who has a diverse military background as well as experience working with horses. She will be chatting with the staff of Charity Hills Ranch and with some of the veterans, who have gone through the program, as they share their personal stories.

Horses and Heroes will create a greater awareness of Animal Assisted Therapy for civilians, military personnel, veterans, and their families. The the documentary will create an understanding of how and why the therapy works, thereby giving those suffering from PTSD another therapeutic option.

We are not offering any perks for the donations. Offering perks would force us to raise the extra funds to pay for them. We want to be able to use all the funds raised for development. We are also asking that you go to http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/horses-and-heroes/x/94403 to donate what you can and share our information with your friends, family and on you social networking sites.
