God Saw a Butterfly A divinely inspired transformational parable
A review by Cate Cavanagh
This afternoon was cleverly planned. It required making an appointment with myself and rescheduling all others. I scan the bedroom. The pillows are cautiously situated to sit up straight for the best comfort or reading. I carefully place my tea and biscuits on the night table and my pooch, Marilyn, waits for me so she can stretch along my side. I silence the phone and reach for my afternoon treasure to unfold. I clutch the book greedily for you see in this age of technology it is so very hard to touch and smell a real book
This afternoon is different. I will read a new book written by one of my favorite authors, Theresa Chaze. Follow me as I unfold fold one of those little miracles-Theresa Chaze.
God Saw a Butterfly is a true parable for this world in which so many seek their truth.
Throughout we are drawn into a work that is a metaphor….or is it?  We become aware that life is often just a playful sound track upon which all is merely a dance of questions. But what are the answers? Answers, comfortable or not, glide amidst colorful enchantments of shimmer and love and fear. It is only through the maze of emotions can we begin to see that growth is being aware that all things are integrated, codependent and never apart from the whole of existence…and somewhere along our travels the importance of the “now” must never escape us.
As we seek to grow we must be wary of our fear factor that would alienate us from a glorious universal unity much as the second son caused his own isolation. But that side and his would lead us to deception rather than the truth and faith that is our heritage. As does Shylon we look for home yet we flit from one floor to another with home seeming to stretch beyond our grasp. Yet we must accept that constant growth will guide us through reality after reality hence comprising what is to be our lives. Shylon learns how easily we lose trust in not just ourselves, seeking for “now”, but the collection of wisdom that is our right to achieve if we only let it.
Throughout Shylon’s journey she mirrors our own search for truth but will we, like Shylon, reach a point of abandoning oneself for the illusion of truth? Hopefully our stubborn natures will not disrupt the fine threads that connect the “hither” and “yonder” or from facing the doubt that encourages failure to accept responsibility for our own errors. As Shylon presents a snapshot of her evolution so might we take to opportunity to pause to do the same.
And so the parable begins our own journey of accepting that awareness yields honor and compassion and caring for all levels of life. Herein lies the parable for our birth, life and purpose.

Such a thoughtful and inspirational allegory. Essential reading in these fractious times. Chaze explores a sense of divine wonder, helping us see a universe of microcosms, placing the proper perspective on our petty day-to-day. Highly recommend

What a magical and poetic read! I found this authors gentle but deeply insightful writing very moving and I feel certain that others too will enjoy this short unusual piece of enchantment!
I loved it! God saw a Butterfly was a magical and entertaining short read, that took me on a journey back to my days of childhood wonder. A charming and endearing tale.

God Saw a Butterfly is a transformational parable, which was very loosely inspired by the saying, where a caterpillar sees death, God sees a butterfly.

The proceeds from God Saw a Butterfly will be used to produce the TV series, Horses and Heroes. Combining Peer Support with Equine Therapy, Horses and Heroes will empower veterans to heal and reclaim their lives.

God saw a Butterfly is available as an Amazon Kindle and by going to the website by clicking here.

Horses and Heroes is aReality TV series, which combines the highly effective Peer Support Therapy with Equine Therapy. Unlike most in the genre, it will focus on healing and positive growth rather than endorsing bad behavior. Each season will bring together the veterans from WWII to the current conflicts. They will be sharing their challenges and supporting each other as they find new solutions. They know the talk, because they have walked the walk. They see the dodges and will be able to call each other on them. Sparks may fly. Tempers may flare, especially when they force each other to face the ghosts. But will also be laughter and fun as they rebuild the comradery. The snarkiness and practical jokes between the branches don’t simply end. There is always room for just one more. When it airs, it will reach into the homes of the veterans, who need to hear that they are not alone and give them the information as well as the permission to also heal. They will help each other find their way back to the world. Veterans can’t go back and make a brand new start; but they can start from now and make a brand new end.

A positive brand reputation is as important to a corporation’s success as are the tools and venues it uses to create the brand. Animal assisted therapy helps heal the mind, body and soul of those who have been challenged through illness, accidents, or life experiences. Dogs, and horses closely followed by cats are the most common therapy animals: however, horses have the unique ability to reflect back the individual’s emotions, thereby helping them to understand and control their triggers.

Raising the awareness of the benefits of animal therapy will lead to many more animals finding good homes, but it will also empower veterans and others to reclaim their lives.

The ghost of a murdered child bring his parents back together after they have reincarnated. He needs them to remember their lives together and forgive. If he succeeds, they will all heal and he will be freed to also reincarnate. If he fails, their need for revenge will damn them all

Elizabeth was asked by her mentor to teach a writing course at a small college. Since she never forgets a kindness, she reluctantly agrees. Arriving in town, she instantly regrets her decision. She wants to run, but she is honor bound to stay. Even as the ghost of a small child begs her to forgive, the memories of another time arouse feelings of hatred that she doesn’t understand and cannot control. When she meets Shane, all of their lives are thrown onto a dangerous collision course from which they can neither run, nor can they hide. The question is, “Can they overcome their tragic past or will they be doomed to repeat it.

With the logline, “when love is forever, death is only the beginning, Never Can Say Good-bye is comparable to Ghost and The Others.

Kidnapped as a child, Rikki is forced to defend her life from her envious mother, who is more than willing to kill to steal her spiritual gifts. When Rikki escapes, Sandra turns her attention on others with power gifts, who are more vulnerable. Can Rikki find the strength and courage to once again face her mother and stop her or will Sandra use Rikki’s guilt to weaken her to the point that she is unable save herself or anyone else?

Katherine was born with the power to control the elements. Her whistle called the winds. Her tears refreshed the earth. She was able to see into the realms where fools and angels fear to tread. Her daughter, Sandra, was born with gifts that were complimentary—or they should have been. Sandra had the ability to nurture and heal. Her gifts gave her the ability to see and heal others’ pain. She could foresee their destinies and give them the courage to embrace their futures Yet, it was not enough. Sandra wanted more more direct control over the world and the realms beyond. When her daughters’ developed the gifts she craved, Sandra’s envy turned to hatred. When a voice from the dark void reached out and asked, “What would you do to have their power. Sandra replied, “Whatever it takes.”

Eye of Ra is an occult-horror, which is comparable to The Exorcist and Amityville Horror with the tagline, “when a mother eats her young, no one is safe.”

They raised their hand and swore an oath to defend the country against all enemies both domestic and abroad.  They did their duty.  They stood the line.  They risked their lives. They took other lives in defense of the nation.  They protected each other.  They fulfilled their commitment.  They received their honors as they took off their uniform and rejoined civilian life only to find that comradery that helped them through the challenges and stress of military service was also boxed away.

While in service no brother or sister in arms was left behind. However, many found themselves without a support system to help them through the transition from military personnel to veteran.   It takes more than three hots and cot to move past the experiences that permanent altered lives from the inside out.  The person, who raised their hand and took the oath, no longer exists.  Whether combat or non-com, peace time or conflict, putting on the uniform meant setting aside their individuality for the good of the whole.   Basic did more than train them for battle; it broke down the barriers between them and rebuilt them as a unit, which is was capable of working as single entity.  Egos were set aside.  Their competition in training strengthened and enhanced the whole.  Their lives depended on their ability to trust and rely on each other.

Civilians can’t or won’t understand.  Serving is more than a job, it is who they became as a person.  They no longer saw themselves as “I” or “me”, but as “us” and “we”.    While civilians compete for themselves, military personnel fight for the group.     That mindset doesn’t just end by taking off the uniform.

Working with the horses helps veterans find new ways to cope with their physical and emotional challenges. Peer Support Therapy will give them the safe, supportive environment to face their ghosts head on. Horses and Heroes can’t get them back what they lost. War took that person. Yet it doesn’t have to be the end of their story. They can’t go back and make a brand new start, but they can start from now and make a brand new end. Horses and Heroes will help veterans find the strength and courage within themselves to rebuild their lives and create that brand new end.

Horses and Heroes is a Reality TV series, which combines the highly effective peer support with Equine Therapy.  Each season will bring together eight veterans that will come from the broad veteran demographic. They will be sharing their challenges and supporting each other as they find new solutions.    When it airs, it will reach into the homes of the veterans, who need to hear that they are not alone, and give them the information they need to also heal.

These days, the emphasis has been on the veterans from the current conflicts; however, many of those from previous wars never had a chance to work through that they experienced.  They pigeonholed their lives and tried to leave their pain behind.  But now that they are reaching an age when they are starting to review their lives, that is no longer so easy to do.  For this reason, Horses and Heroes will not only attract the prized 18-35-year-old demographic, but also those who served in the Vietnam, Korean, and WWII.

<p><a href=”https://vimeo.com/139865241″>All veterans' lives matter</a> from <a href=”https://vimeo.com/user2064974″>Theresa Chaze</a> on <a href=”https://vimeo.com”>Vimeo</a&gt;.</p>

While in service no brother or sister in arms behind.   Although most of the attention and support has been focused on the veterans from the current conflicts, many from the previous conflicts never receive the help and support they needed to heal through their physical and emotional pain.  Horses and Heroes will be bringing veterans of all ages, ethnic backgrounds, and both genders together.  It’s never too late to heal and come back to the world.  Transportation, housing, food, and therapy as well as a small stipend for the eight veterans in the program will cost $3,500.00 for each.  We are asking for the support of individuals and organizations to help us with these costs.

Horses and Heroes is a reality TV series, which promotes healing rather than bad behavior. Although Equine Therapy will be the stage, the focus will remain on the veterans and how their lives as well as those of their families were changed by the physical and emotional challenges brought into their lives by war.

Veterans supporting veterans has always been more effective than working with civilian therapists. They have been there and done that, which is why they know when to cut slack and when to call the other on the BS.

Each season, Horses and Heroes will bring together eight veterans, who want to reclaim their lives from their physical and emotional challenges. They will support each other as they work with the horses and tell their stories.

Veterans can’t go back and make a brand new start, but they can start from now and make a brand new end. Together they will give each other the strength and courage they need to change their directions of their lives toward the new end.
